Recall Watch monitors a specific 17-character VIN against the NHTSA recall database and alerts you when a new safety recall campaign is issued for that vehicle. Manufacturers must remedy open safety recalls free of charge at any franchised dealer, regardless of how many owners the car has had.

How does recall watch work?
You add a VIN, and CleanVins re-checks it against the NHTSA recall database. When a new campaign lists that vehicle, you get an alert with the campaign number and remedy.
Does recall monitoring cost anything?
No. Recall lookups and recall watching are free. Only the full vehicle history report ($9.99) is paid.
Are recall repairs free?
Yes. Under federal law a manufacturer must repair an open safety recall at no cost through a franchised dealer, generally regardless of the vehicle's age for safety defects reported within 15 years of sale.
